For those of you who would like to know when a good time to visit is, it would be when Galen is feeling good. That would be the ideal time! Otherwise, he may be fast asleep, groaning and vomiting with nausea, or spaced out. Sorry – we never know!
We asked the palliative care nurse if it was possible just to transfer back to our home in Rosthern. We are tired of hospitals and hospital food. All they are doing now is administering drugs and nothing has changed in that area in the last few days (other than our venture into the world of medical marijuana). Galen was pretty good today, with no nausea. He just complains about being stoned. So the nurse is arranging for palliative home care in Rosthern to come in and do the drugs. We hope that works out and that we can hang out at home together, cook our own food, sit in the garden, walk along the creek. . .
Unfortunately, it is Friday tomorrow and the start of a long weekend! If it doesn’t get organized tomorrow, we will probably be here until Tuesday anyway.
Thanks again for all your comments. It is so nice to look down through the list and see the names of friends both near and far. If you want to send an email to Galen personally, you can send it to his address at galenkennel at gmail dot com.

Hi Rebecca, we’ve been away lately but home for a bit now. So when you get home & need something just email. Wishing you both better days. Home is always better. Autumn is always beautiful so strolls along the creek will be lovely. Hugs

Home is a wonderful place and I hope you are able to return to it soon. We pray that they will be able to find the right combination of drugs to keep Galen comfortable.
We will uphold you both in our prayers.

Here’s hoping transfer to home happens soon! You’re own meal prep will be better and healthier. And sleeping in own bed is better!
Sending love and prayers!

So appreciate the updates. And the life wisdom and perspectives with which you gift us. Echo all the wisdom, caring, hopes and wishes already expressed. Looking forward to time together in Rosthern. You are in my heart always and so very much in my thoughts. Hugs

Hope you get home soon. Just seeing the improvements Chuck has made since he has been back home make me believe that home works way better.

Hi. We are so sorry and shocked to here about Galen. We have been reminiscing about our times together over the past years and how we enjoyed the excursions, on the acreage and on the Island. You are in our prayers. Jeannette& Clarence

Verity shared your news with Ewan and I. Thank you Rebecca for sharing your journey with everyone. It is tough to talk sometimes
about what is happening. To put it down in a blog is brilliant and sharing answers to the many questions your friends and family have.
I have met Dr. Ahmed and found him to be very kind and compassionate. Galen and Rebecca we wish you peace, light and healing energy.
